Latency reduction – Network Performance Programme
Led a program to improve the customer experience on our networks and across IoT devices, by identifying and removing issues causing game lag and conference calls being dropped. This programme was highly successful and significantly improved traffic performance by reducing latency across 7 products in 6 countries, achieving over 90% latency improvements, and pro-longing the life of 10 million legacy products. Wi-Fi Automation: Designed and led an innovative automation test lab and custom toolsets, to conduct performance comparison testing of key competitor offerings.
Working with Wi-Fi engineering, we created the first QA test framework for measuring Wi-Fi traffic prioritisation within congested environments for 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. To achieve a repeatable baseline for future regression testing we standardised previously uncontrollable Wi-Fi variables, allowing accurate repeatable measurements to compare new traffic prioritisation features.

The role at Liberty Global included managing the test engineers and ongoing projects acquired from telecom acquisitions across Europe, including Virgin Media and Vodafone Ziggo.
RFO/FRP: In my role I responded to RFQ’s and won multiple quality assurance projects with solutions that inspired client confidence, delivering faster turnaround times with superior test and requirement coverage.
Picture Quality: Introduced automation for testing 4K picture quality testing and sound and video synchronisation to STB’s over in-house Wi-Fi networks, removing manual testing. The role included identifying the test solution and working closely with third party vendors and stakeholders.
STB Hardware: Programme Test Manager for the STB hardware “4k Mini TV Box”
Defined the quality assurance framework and test strategy for the multi-million-unit 4k Mini TV Box, ensuring successful completion that earned a Red Dot Award. Working directly with third party hardware suppliers, identifying quality assurance processes and test delivery workflows to achieve high quality standards. Capita PLC: Programme Test Manager: October 2015 to February 2016

Delivered end-to-end QA testing for MS Dynamics CRM solution, covering automated billing, email confirmation, resource planning, warehouse ordering, and tracking integration with third-party delivery systems.

ITV: Integration Test Manager: June 2014 to June 2015

Managed testing for the digital delivery launch of ITVBe. Performing end-to-end metadata workflows and infrastructure integration. The launch was on-schedule with no major post-launch issues.
Using a Kanban Agile framework, I collaborated with product owners, offshore development teams and third-party suppliers, to complete on-time delivery for each stage.
Delivered integration testing using a purpose build data-driven metadata test suite, exercising 23 middleware systems, 14 third-party platforms, and 56 interfaces, allowing for full system compatibility and boundary analysis testing across platforms.

Iron Mountain: Programme Test Manager: June 2011 to June 2014

End-to-end quality assurance as a Programme Test Manager delivering five work-streams to multi-disciplined government stakeholders. The role required SC security clearance and documentation to TMMI level 5 standards.
I developed the test strategy and test frameworks for testing, release and test sign off documents required for a custom-built CoTs solution.
Working from the initial contract procurement, I hired, led and mentored a small team of testers and personally conducted hands-on testing for five work streams (FAT, SIT, OAT, disaster recovery, performance and load testing)
Successfully completed the testing and test witness event for the data migration of 17 million records from legacy systems to a secure IL4 environment.
Successfully led the disaster recovery testing, proving business continuity, communication measures and abiding to (RTO) Recovery Time Objective and (RPO) Recovery Point Objective agreements. Delivery sign-off and test witness events conducted with onsite client specialists.
Selecting visual studio ultimate and Microsoft test manager as the quality assurance software, I developed the load and performance testing tools, test hardware infrastructure and test documentation to achieve the test witness sign off for contractual performance requirements.
Provided direct support to the client throughout UAT, ensuring all work streams, test documentation and test witness events were signed off on schedule, resulting in high client satisfaction, key delivery milestones were met and on-time project delivery.
Due to the programme’s success, I played a key role in planning and developing a scalable generic CoTs solution to upgrade systems for 70 additional clients.
